and won&#8217;t rot, crack, swell, delaminate or be affected by mildew or termites.\u00a0 They can withstand continuous contact with fresh and saltwater and most corrosive chemicals that would corrode or destroy timber or metal.\u00a0 All are suitable for commercial and industrial applications.\u00a0 Our black and coloured sheeting is also UV-stabilised for long outdoor aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1341\"><p>See how our plastics behave under thermal stress to ensure the performance and integrity of your sheeting.<\/p><p>Coefficient of linear thermal expansion of HDPE :\u00a0<\/p><p>0.12mm \/ m \/ degree C<\/p><p>A 2.4m long HDPE panel will change in length by about 12mm over a 40-degree temperature change, and its 1.2m width will change by 6mm.\u00a0 The fixing holes in the sheet have to be oversized or elongated to allow the sheet to expand and contract freely with changes in temperature.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Don&#8217;t\u00a0<\/strong>over-tighten the fasteners, as this will restrict movement and will cause the sheet to buckle.<\/li><li><strong>Don&#8217;t\u00a0<\/strong>position fasteners closer than 15mm from the edge of the sheet, and ensure that there&#8217;s a sufficient gap all around the fastener in the hole.<\/li><\/ul><p>If the edge of the sheet breaks away at the fastener hole in the cold, then the hole was too small, or there wasn&#8217;t enough gap around the fastener.<\/p><p>If using one 2.4 x 1.2m sheet, leave a 6mm expansion gap all around between the edge of the sheet and any fixed object.\u00a0 If multiple sheets are installed side by side, leave a 12mm expansion gap between sheets.<\/p><p>If the sheet buckles in the heat, loosen or reposition the fasteners or enlarge the holes in the sheet.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div
